Vehicle Conversions
The LPG components used in Millbrook Conversions are approved to the applicable European standards for OEM vehicle systems using this fuel. The components are packaged in locations to optimise safety and use of luggage space, employing wiring, bracketry and tank solutions specific to each model.
Millbrook Conversions are designed with the vehicle production line in mind as well as the end user. Consideration is given to modular sub-assembly, speed of installation and access for servicing once vehicles are with customers in the field.
Our world-renowned engineering expertise and extensive test facilities are employed during a vehicle development programme. Calibration Engineers and the vehicle emissions and engine test laboratories are used to ensure good driveability and low emissions. Rapid ageing tests are run to prove long term structural and powertrain durability. Design of tank installations is verified in the impact Crash Laboratory. After validation, we can offer a full Type Approval service on site.
Well controlled processes are key to being able to deliver consistently high quality vehicle conversions. Millbrook's production engineering expertise is used to design processes which complement existing flexible operations. This approach allows conversions on a variety of models to be made in sequence, without batch or series production constraints. Single shift operation may be extended to double shift and beyond to produce in excess of 15,000 vehicles per annum.
To enable vehicles produced at Millbrook to be well supported during their future in the field, we have the expertise to develop and publish a number of technical manuals such as product descriptions, checking procedures, wiring diagrams and parts catalogues. These may be complemented by the establishment of times for service and repair standard operations required by OEM clients.
Training courses are developed and delivered to create a nationwide network of locations to support converted vehicles. Parts used in our conversions are stocked as spares and distributed to our approved and trained repairers. In addition, helpline support from our experts with in-depth product knowledge can be made available, completing the technical services support package for Millbrook converted vehicles.
